🗓️ Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Windhoek to Sossusvlei (via Solitaire)
Distance: ±350 km | Travel Time: ±6–7 hours (with stops)
You’ll be picked up between 08:00 and 08:30 from your Windhoek accommodation and travel southwest through scenic mountain passes and plains toward the iconic Namib Desert. Along the way, we stop in Rehoboth, home to the Baster community, where you'll learn about their fascinating heritage at an outdoor museum.
We continue through the Spreetshoogte or alternatively Remhoogte Passes, reaching the tiny settlement of Solitaire - our lunch break stop. From there, we cross grass savannah and red dunes to arrive at Dead Valley Lodge, nestled near the entrance to Namib-Naukluft Park.
In the late afternoon, we head out on a sundowner nature drive to Elim Dune, where you can soak in breathtaking sunset views over the Namib’s glowing sands.

Day 2: Explore Sossusvlei, Deadvlei & Sesriem Canyon
Today begins early with a pre-dawn departure for Sossusvlei. We’ll pass through the Sesriem gate and continue into the heart of the world’s oldest desert.
We visit Dune 45, famous for its elegant shape and photo appeal; Deadvlei, an ancient clay pan with eerie 900-year-old trees; and for the adventurous, a hike up Big Daddy - Sossusvlei’s highest dune at 325 meters.
After a midday break and lunch at the lodge, we explore Sesriem Canyon, a deep, narrow gorge carved by water over centuries - perfect for a short walk and more stunning desert views.
