DAY 1 You will be picked up from your hotel between 8:00-8:00 am. Once everyone who joins the tour has been collected we will stop at the supermarket to stock up on fresh produce and you will be given an opportunity to do your own shopping by getting more personal foodstuff we do not supply such as bottled water, sneaks, alcoholic beverages etc. After our shopping we will leave the city by B1 highway driving south towards Rehoboth, where we will have a brief stop for comfort break. At the bee one fueling station where we stop is there an information area with the rich historical background about the people who lives in this town please feel free to visit the area and read the information it is very interesting and informative. Your guide will make use of this opportunity to share with you the broader history of Namibia and the cultural diversity we have in the land of the brave. Having concluded our visit to the interesting town of Rehoboth and its people we will continue our drive further south westerly direction toward Sesriem passing through farmland and small villages we eventually will drop down from the greater escarpment onto the desert plains. Upon arrival we pass through the reception at the campsite to check in and immediately pitch camp and proceed to Elim dune which is approximately 10km away from our camp ground for our first encounter with the red sand dunes of the Namib desert. After the sunset and our magical experience of feeling the touch of the sand dunes we head back to the campsite for goodnight rest.
DAY 2 Today is the highlight of your tour and therefore a pre-dawn start is essential to make the most of the day by catching the soft light of the sunrise on desert. Having finished our sunrise we will continue our drive towards deadvlei, the heart and soul of the Namib Desert. This is a mystic ancient mineral pan stunted with camel thorn trees. Towering in the background you can see the highest dune in the vicinity
called “Big Daddy”, should weather and time permit those who are not feint hearted and feel up to the challenge can do the 1h30 clime to the top to enjoy the spectacular aerial view from there. As the desert temperatures raise rapidly we will conclude our visit to the dunes with quick stop at sossusvlei. Back at the camp there will be enough time to relax after lunch. In the late afternoon after our siesta we will drive to the sesriem canyon. Formed over a period of more than 40 million years sesriem canyon will leave you with a deep understanding fascinating geology of Namibia. On that note we will catch our last sunset of the safari to celebrate our true African experience. With dinner waiting for us we drive back to the campsite and since it’s our last night under the African skies we will spend time around the campfire to share stories and real life experiences to enrich others life’s bidding farewell to our awesome African adventure.
DAY 3 Our journey takes us back to Windhoek where we have started our safari. After leisurely breakfast we will drive towards Solitaire where we will have about a 45 minutes stop for photo opportunity and second cup of coffee. Driving by the way of scenic roads behind the Naukluft Mountains we will make our way towards Windhoek. Estimated arrival time in the city is between 3:30-4:30 pm. You will be dropped off at your hotel or place of accommodation. Please note if you have prebooked or pre-arranged for airport shuttle with Meerkat Safaris you will be picked up and transferred to the airport at the appointed date and time. Please confirm with your guide before leaving the tour
